Akela Reason, an assistant professor of art history in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, was quoted in a story by The Philadelphia Inquirer about the sale of a well-known collection of paintings in the St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, Penn.
The collection includes portraits of prominent Catholic clergy in Philadelphia by Thomas Eakins, Alice Neel and Philip Pearlstein.
“They are especially important to the seminary’s history,” Reason told The Inquirer. “These men were seen as the leaders of Philadelphia Catholicism.”
