Gym time boosts GPA at Purdue

Purdue University found that first-year students who visited its recreational center 15 or more times a semester held a higher grade point average than those who did not.

The university tracked which first-year students often visited its France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center and used their student ID numbers to generate a report based on their first-semester GPA. Those who frequently went to the center had an average GPA of 3.08. The average GPA for students who did not regularly use the gym was a 2.81.
